Recognition of Prior Learning

“Recognition of prior learning, also referred to as RPL or recognition of current competencies, is the formal recognition of a persons current skills and knowledge, no matter how, when or where the learning occurred. Even if you have never formally studied or trained in a particular area, you may have gained knowledge and skills through your education, training, work and life experience.” ref: DETA Qld 2013

You may be eligible for RPL and be rewarded for your previous hard work! The process is simple and may be benefit you in the long run.

HOW IT WORKS

Initial Assessment – You need to complete our Assessment Form and send in your resume and/or position description along with any prior qualifications you hold. The assessor will use this to determine if the RPL process is appropriate for you. There is no need to provide all of your evidence at this stage as this will be requested if you choose to go ahead with your RPL.

An initial RPL meeting with relevant staff at our office either face to face or via video/teleconference would be required and submission of the RPL supporting documentation within agreed timeframe will be required. A cost will be attached to this service.

Credit transfer will occur where students are given credit for units of competency they have successfully completed at SET Training or another training organisation.
